Divine Providence

“….Only Christians can rest in the doctrine of divine Providence; that is, the fact that the world is governed by a God who is capable of working all things toward an appointed end. It is this Providence that sees the sparrow fall to the ground and knows the number of hairs on our heads.

“Christians do not believe in Fate, with it’s blind alleys and dashed hopes. Those who have come to know Christ are convinced that they are in the hands of a God who knows the end from the beginning and works all things together for good.

“We live not by Fate but by Faith. Fate leads to doom; faith leads to destiny. ‘That the fruit of your faith, being more precious than gold which is perishable, even though tested by fire, may be found to result in praise and glory and honour at the revelation of Jesus Christ’ (1Peter 1:7)”

I am a 23 year old young lady who is redeemed and saved from my sin only by the grace of God. A bibliophile at heart with a love of history who desires to see the Word of God practically applied to all aspects of our daily lives -- in our homes, in the grocery store, in the political realm. I strive to put my jumbled, chaotic thoughts down onto paper -- reducing them into black and white rows, letters, sentences. Into some semblance of sanity. And I share them here with all of you, where I can challenge you, make you think, and cause you to ask questions. I am the oldest of eleven children living the country life in the deep south.

What are your thoughts?
